The Bachelor of Information Technology (BIT) Degree Program offered by the University of Colombo is one of the best ways to become a Software Engineer at a minimal cost.
To enroll in the BIT program, you must have successfully completed your A/L examination.
However, for those of you who are interested in BIT but couldn't pass the A/L examination or have only completed your O/Ls and decided not to pursue A/Ls, there's the FIT (Foundation in Information Technology) program.
The FIT program is a four-month-long course, and upon successful completion, you’ll be eligible to join the BIT program.

All exams and assessments for the Foundation of Information Technology (FIT) course are carried out by the External Degree Division of the University of Colombo. Registration with the University of Colombo is a prerequisite for participation.
