This specialized course is designed for individuals who are either anticipating marriage or have recently married. Led by psychologist Dr. Samitha Etuldoraarachchi, participants will gain valuable insights on how to initiate and maintain a successful family life filled with love. Moreover, the unique aspect of this course allows participants to engage in live discussions, directing their questions related to family life to Mrs. Entredoararachchi for immediate answers.

The course content is structured over five weeks, with each week focusing on specific aspects of building a strong and harmonious family life.

In the first week, participants will delve into understanding the dynamics of their relationships and life, as well as effective management of the influence of siblings on both sides.

Moving on to the second week, the course provides insights into gender behavior, encompassing the physical, mental, and emotional aspects of men and women. Additionally, participants will learn how to cultivate loving relationships that contribute to a successful married life and explore social and cultural influences impacting men.

The third week is dedicated to nurturing love, effective communication, and balancing differences within the relationship. Topics include exploring love, touch, and intimacy, recognizing and managing each other's strengths and weaknesses, understanding and balancing differences, establishing strong communication, and managing relationships with family and friends, including setting boundaries. The week also addresses religious and differing beliefs.

In the fourth week, participants will learn strategies for conflict resolution, including anger control, creative and flexible problem-solving, dispute resolution, and navigating changes within the spouse.

Finally, the fifth week covers essential aspects of preparing for parenthood and managing family life. This includes navigating expectations related to having children, providing mental and emotional support, managing financial aspects, planning for marriage and home, understanding Sri Lanka's marriage laws, and addressing sociability and issues of abuse or mischief.

Samitha Etuldoraarachchi

Samitha Ethuldorarachchi is a well-known Psychologist and a visiting lecture. She is specialized in personality development and corporate training; designs and conducts programs for various clusters of society. Samitha holds a Bachelor’s Degree in International Relations from the University of Colombo and two Masters Degrees in Psychology as well as Buddhist & Ayurvedic Counseling. Currently she is dedicated to establish a healthy psycho –social culture in Sri Lanka to get maximum contribution of people for social and economic development of the country.
